About to buy S4, but worried about laptop spec.
Posted on: 18.03.2011 by Kesha Orde
Hi all, I'm about to buy an S4 (and pretty excited about it!), but I'm worried that my laptop might be a bit slow. It's a HP Compaq nx6325, AMD Sepron 3400+ 1.79 GHz and 2.37 GB Ram.
Its running XP Pro SP3, which seems stable to me.

I know this is less than the recommended specs, but I'm running TPro now with no problems and am hoping someone can reassure me so I dont have to shell out for a new laptop.

Any advice would be much appreicated.

Agreed with everyone else, especially with it being a Compaq consumer laptop.

Hmm, thanks for the advice guys, even though it's not what I wanted to hear!

Macbooks seem way too expensive, but I'm sure it runs nicely on them.
Can anyone recommend a good Windows machine that they know to work well with the S4?

I believe your worries might be spot on. You might have to buy something new.

Mehh u might be ok but those amd's arent that good for traktor. And the s4 hates windows.

To be honest, i dont believe the specs would do good, at least get 4gb of memory. Once you use a midicontroller it will take more juice from your computer. i needed to tweek my computer, and its made for 3d modeling...

So be prepared to do alot of tweeking, and it might work flawles
