My S4 failed me when I needed it most, need a fix

So I was getting ready to play a st pattys day party at the university bar. Traktor S4 is up and running fine just before sound check. I did a restart (not sure why). After the restart, Traktor runs but the Kontrol S4 is not lighting up. I power it on and it does it's magical light show and then the USB light just stays lit. I tried reinstalling the driver, and the Ni hardware driver but got nothin. Any ideas?

Just back up that whole NI folder in Documents and replace the new one after the install with your backup.

So I decide to reinstall, do I have to worry about my collection at all? Obviously i'll back it up, but will S4 just reinstall all the components and leave the collection alone?

Verify that USB is fully functional? Are you running on USB power only? Is the laptop powered by battery or by adapter?

If I do a reinstall of Traktor whats the best way to save and reload my collection once Traktor is reinstalled. This is the first time Traktor has ever failed on me it's been so reliable otherwise.

Maybe if the S4 have a reset itself like some other music gear like turning it of with some buttons pressed... Check the manual.

Other than resetting the defaults and reinstalling the drivers I'd say an uninstall/reinstall of Traktor itself.

Yes I did, it's so frustrating. I consider myself to be very tech savvy and able to figure out almost any computer problem and this one is flooring me. I downloaded the NI uninstaller utility and uninstalled the S4 driver so now i'll try reinstalling and see what I get :S

Hey guys i'm actually running on OS X 10.6 and I tried restoring the default settings. The strange thing, when I plug in the S4 the settings recognizes the soundcard, but nothing lights up and I have no control.

There's a new driver that just got released.Run service center and install that.

Blame windows and the shitty usb drivers?

Yeah that's a little strange, I would do as KeyWee suggested.

Sounds odd. I would try to reset the settings to the default one to see if it helps.
