Problem with tempo fader

Problem with tempo fader
Posted on: 15.03.2011 by Boyce Engbrecht
Recently my left tempo fader has started acting funny. When i move it the tempo takes ages to catch up with the movement. The screen shows the tempo counting through the bpms long after I have finished moving it. It makes using it impossible. The right fader on the other hand works perfectly, as snappy as ever. I thought it might be dust but I never leave the S4 uncovered and I have tried blowing into it a few times and recalibrating but nothing seems to work. Any ideas or does it need to go back?

Thanks for the suggestion! Although the same issue was occurring even when I installed the S4 software on a different computer. I'll let you know how it goes when I get home.

Try changing your fader settings from relative to absolute or vice versa and try it again

Sorry for the double post, I just tried this, it works to recenter it but as soon as i move the fader it jumps back to its original position. Thanks for the suggestion though

I have the same issue here, although it resolved itself and now the middle of the fader doesnt correspond with the middle in software (even after calibration).

Regardless, your're going to have to call NI support. I'm waiting for my shipping label. Hopefully they are faster now than people have claimed before

I had the same issue with my right fader. Other people on NI's community s have ad the issue with the left. Verify the problem with Controller Manager, then call NI support. Chances are you're gonna have to send it back.
