Audio issues with Traktor Pro 2 upgrade Posted on: 31.03.2011 by Anastacia Gorte Are any Windows 7 PC users still experiencing audio issues after the upgrade to Pro 2? I feel like I get less now, but I still seem to get 1-2 small pops or stutters an hour with Pro 2. This is on a core i3, 4gb ram, 500gb HD Windwos 7 PC that has had all the optimization I can believe of done to it. I followed the guide that is stickied at the top of this community
, and tried some of my own tweaks. It's very frustrating that this is still happening to me. I have a set to play tomorrow evening
for about 3 hours and even though it's pretty DIY at a local bar with maybe 50 people, still doesn't look very professional to have glitches like these. Does anyone have any more tips/tweaks/tricks to share? | |

I have to add that I still get amazed at all the 'PC-bashing' that goes on with 'audio issues'. I had MINOR glitches with TP1.2.7 and haven't had a SINGLE glitch since installing TP2. Have always used ASIO 'tho. |
Addie Engbrecht 04.04.2011 | Thats well worth noting, and I am running windows 7 64. I'm not sure what w/ service pack is, but I can honestly say that I did notice improvement w less cpu usage and I know for a fact it wasnt a placebo effect either. |

After I decided that I wanted to take this more seriously I decided to see if the a MB was worth it. @Rukkus: Do it! You will not regret it!!! I found a 2008 13" MB (not pro) w/ 2.4ghz and 2gbs of RAM (will upgrade to 4gb shortly, just for good measure) for $500 and since installation I have had not had one problem with the S4. After getting settings tweaked its been evening and day in comparison. I can also say that I have the disappearing waveforms... after reading a few other threads and sites, it seems as if this is a true bug and is currently being addressed. |

Lang Abriel 04.04.2011 | Ive noticed that the no wave form behind play line happens to me every once in a while....honestly I believe the best solution for me is to pick up a 400-500 macbook just for running traktor. I've found some pretty good condition ones out there. |

Lang Abriel 02.04.2011 | I may try the usb hotfix...I need to read up on it more when im sober. |
Lang Abriel 02.04.2011 | So s4 always ran pretty poorly on my optimized machine but I never did turn blue tooth off, I'm going to go try that now. But now it only seems to run badly when I am pulling tunes from an ipod or itunes....Does anyone else get this? I have my whole library analyzed but when I want to connect someone elses ipod it starts to dropout. |

Anastacia Gorte 01.04.2011 | Had my tracks already beatgridded and locked from traktor pro s4, did my re analysis yesterday. So I really really hope toevening goes well. I am going to spend today trying my best to optimize the system |
Daisy Dotseth 01.04.2011 | I just had to cancel and leave my first gig in years!! If you have had anything close to an issue with dropouts etc using S4 i HIGHLY recommend you do not play out until you have re-analyzed your tracks for the purdy waveforms. I had a small play last evening after installing the tsp2 upgrade and all seemed fine. (I had s4 working perfectly on my very lean system with no dropouts since december) At my gig toevening nothing could be further from the truth.... After about 2 tunes i loaded up a new one which started the analyze process and it was cpu glitch and dropout city. I managed to get the house system back on and changed over to s4 but of course now my waveforms were gone - it just went from bad to worse when i lost power (self inflicted) - back to house system again. I thought i would try tsp2 again after playing with the latency etc again but as soon as i started loading up tracks again (already gridded etc in s4) the analysis process began to wreak havoc. I am now home reanalyzing my library in tsp2 - hopefully nobody suffers from the same mistake i made. Hopefully tomorrow evening goes better |
Addie Engbrecht 31.03.2011 | Ive never had issue w audio except when my wi fi is on, but again I did notice the performance upgrade (less cpu usage) when I installed this. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/981214 |
Anastacia Gorte 31.03.2011 | I haven't tried the USB hotfix you mention, could you kindly point me in the right direction to find that |
Addie Engbrecht 31.03.2011 | I believe I heard that when you upgrade to Traktor 2 if you select the s4 sound driver you get the new beta 2.9.8 driver. Might wanna double check to make sure. This is the newest driver that NI came up with. It didnt change anything w the popping and clicking I get when wi-fi is turned on for me. I did notice a performance upgrade with the usb hotfix that windows put out if you havent tried that yet as well as game booster, again if you havent tried that yet either. |
