Will You Upgrade to Traktor Scratch Pro 2 from S4? Posted on: 22.03.2011 by Gloria Lemmel Just out of curiosity I am wondering who is going to be getting the Scratch Upgrade or already has TSP and is going to use their Tables with the S4? It's $139.99 for anyone wondering or on the fence. And BTW I am really excited for the next 3 weeks: MIDI Fighter, TSP2, I get to use my 1200s again, Florescent Orange Control Vinyl... Needless to say, I'm really pumped. I'll post some pics of my first gig with my new setup when I get the chance, but who else is getting this upgrade/using tables with the S4? | |

Alla Bluemke 06.04.2011 | I upgraded. I like it so far. I had duo already so it was a free upgrade. I bought duo just because I needed the soundcard and timecoded stuff to play out. |
Reena Bargfrede 06.04.2011 | I have never owned a timecode or vinyl setup and the only reason I would purchase TSP2 upgrade would be to scratch. I have grown used to scratching on smaller jog wheels. In the past my hands on time with vinyl I found the extra surface area offered greater control (as expected). I just recently purchased my S4 and had planned on upgrading to TSP2 and a Stanton STR8. However after calibrating, sharpening the xfader and a couple days of practice, scratching on the S4 feels 400x better than other controllers, good control, very responsive and having very little issues expressing the sounds that I want. Now I'm reconsidering upgrading since the S4 seems to be doing a fine job scratching at the level I need (and remarkable with everything else), but I keep wondering how much further vinyl/timecode might take me and if there is still value in upgrading. |
Francina Decosse 31.03.2011 | you can use TSP2 with and without the timecode. You can just activate it on demand. |
Wesley Subias 30.03.2011 | Ok I have an s4 and I love it. Now I get the tsp2 upgrade for free. But I'm not going to always use the timecode. Can I just use the tsp2 software without the timecode on tsp2 or do I need the tp2 upgrade to use the s4 with no timecode? |
Francina Decosse 30.03.2011 | i see no reason why they should continue investing in TPS4. KS4 users are getting the TP2 for free so S4 will 99.99% get discontinued. It was anyway an intermediate step for early adoption of the new TP2 features ... |
Maxwell Bonifas 30.03.2011 | Will NI still be developing Traktor s4 software after the release of TP 2? If they are not then i spose we should all go the TP 2 route? |
Neville Blackinton 29.03.2011 | I lied! I'm ordering the TSP2 upgrade right now |
Lang Abriel 25.03.2011 | I'll have to see how hid is working with the s4 for cdj's...Ive heard that it responds better than the timecode. Anyone? Don't know if I'll go the cdj route or tt's yet...depends what I get into more. Ill probably want 4 deck control without the shift button so 2 cdj's with looping function etc built in gives alot of options really quick. |
Tatum Ansaldo 25.03.2011 | Nice one! |
Francina Decosse 25.03.2011 | Got a DUO license for 30EUR yesterday and registered it successfully last evening . April 1st will now be a TSP2 upgrade for me |
Mariano Godina 23.03.2011 | I'm just sticking with upgrading my S4 to TP2. |
Francina Decosse 23.03.2011 | I'd like to upgrade to the full TSP2 license. Currently negotiating a TSD license for about 25-30EUR. Lot of peeps got a TSD packages from the discount and are using the A4 only with ableton or just not using the Duo license. The backup option I'm considering is getting a complete Duo package (there are still offers for about 150-200EUR, again from the 50% off deal ) and then sell the A4 only for about 130EUR. It would still give me the TSP2 license for less than the official upgrade price. Karlos, do you have any idea if the free upgrade to TSP2 for S4+*SCRATCH owners will work for *SCRATCH license activations post April 1st? Need to know if I need to rush ... |
Onie Sarandos 22.03.2011 | Free upgrade 1st-then ill upgrade to scratch w/in a couple months. |

Neville Blackinton 22.03.2011 | I am definitely considering getting the TSP2 upgrade. I don't believe it will be on April 1st, but prob within a month or so. |
