annoying problem with the s4

So here's the deal. I started my laptop and launched tp2 and plugged the s4 in. tp2 couldnt recognize the controller. I tried to solve it for a while and then decided to install the latest update for traktor pro s4. it started working again. But now every time i turn off my computer and start it again i have to go through the same process every time because I can't figure why the software dont recognize the s4. any advice? audio runs thru s4 but it just don't control the software.

a little help for the newbie would be appreciated!

You may also bring it to life using the traktor s4 software....usually works for me. Btw this issue is a huge pain in my rear.

I have the same issue. I usually restart my computer now before I hook up my S4 to the laptop and it picks it up. I'm sure the next driver update will correct the issue.

Also I have an X1 connected too and when the S4 isn't lit up neither is my X1. Just like you the audio does work through the S4.

Whenever I restart (even though its a pain in the ass) it ends up working.

no theres no life on the channel meters. browsing goes fine and loading a track into a deck BUT when I press play it won't play the track and the audio setup says that s4 is no connected. And I rebooted my laptop and now only thing that works with the s4 is audio coming out of its master out. could it just be the drivers I mean that is there a driver for the s4 and an own driver for the built in audio interface?

i have the s4 selected and it says not connected but i can control the software with the s4. theres no audio at all thru external speakers nor cue. my output routing is fine it goes with rca cable to the speakers.

Have you selected the S4 in audio settings? Have you checked your output routing? What are you trying to listen to music through, external speakers or the cue?

I uninstalled the drivers, I did run ccleaner and reinstalled drivers and now tp2 recognizes the s4 but theres no audio?

Edit: I installed the beta driver for kontrol s4 2.9.8 and tp2 says that please check your output routing?

Uninstall the drivers, run ccleaner (fix registry and clean temps), reinstall.
