Kontrol S4 Upgrade

Kontrol S4 Upgrade
Posted on: 16.04.2011 by Lacy Contrino
Just got an S4 today, I had been doing down payments and during the down payments Native Instruments started to allow S4 users to upgrade to the Traktor Pro 2 software for free.

However, I have not been able to find this software update anywhere.
I tried installing the 20mb file that says 2.9.8 Beta or something like that. I'm pretty sure however it was just a driver update for the software. Not the new software its self. 1.) It took two seconds to install(I'm sure the new update takes longer than that) 2.) It Looked exactly the same as the previous verson I had which is 1.6 or something along those lines. 3.) When I click the "ABOUT" it still says I have 1.6.

I can't seem to find the actual software upgrade its self. I read somewhere that they will send an E-mail to registered S4 users but since I just became a user today I don't believe they are still sending out those emails??? Cause the new ones already have T2 inside.

The service center also doesn't have the software update either.

Does anyone have a link I can go to to get this or can any one help me with my situation here. It's really painstaking and I really like the new software.
If ANY ONE can help me out or anything please let me know.

Thank You

Why is it just not on the service center or the website with all the other updates?

Sorry mate - I got my email the day after activation. Probably you best bet is as PhotoJojo says - email support and get a ticket. There are comments on a slow response time, but I've only had good experiences with NI Support. Good Luck.

I'm such a Newb.

My pleasure - we all started somewhere in 'newb-land' mate. I hope you come right. As I said - its long and slow but SO worth it. And remember, DON'T plug your baby in until you are done, no matter how tempting.

It will not show up in Service Center; they're only doing it via email. It may take some time to get the email, but you could put a ticket in although I would wait a little while.

Fill a ticket to NI support desk. I got mine by e-mail AFTER I bought my TSP update. Not sure how it works for S4 only user.

OR don't use the Service Center but login directly on the NI update site.

No - custom install and activate - best way to link to SC which is the most efficient way to get the upgrade email. Tech support is flooded. Can do a 'standard' installation - but there's a lot of baggage (welcome notifications, initial set-up, manuals in Chinese etc!). You want that initial activation and SC link. Brew some coffee and watch porn while you download

Darn i just re-installed it like an hour ago.

So un-install...
Custom Install S4 and Service Center..
Enter the Serial Number
Receive an E-mail?

or should I just message them

Install the CD that came with your S4. Do a custom installation, and load only the S4 and Service Centre software. Activate your S4 with the code provided with your disc. You will then get your email with a PIN and new activation code. Both downloads are long and tedious - hang in there mate - its worth it!
*DON'T PLUG YOUR S4 IN UNTIL THE YOU HAVE INSTALLED*
