Jogwheel settings to practice scratching Posted on: 11.05.2011 by Matthew Yanagisawa Hello beautiful people of DJTT,Im starting to learn to scratch just for the kicks and would like to knows an optimum setting that would emulate the closest a turntable. Here you can see multiple guys scratching like nothing on the S4 but I find that you must pust a bit too hard on the jogwheel for it to register input. I knew there was this setting that with just the jogwhell movement it would get registered as turntable touch but I dunno Im drunk. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2zLeaAysuvg | |

Aracely Mcalvey 13.05.2011 | What kind of tracks and/or samples are good for scratching? Do they make exclusive "scratch" tracks (i.e. tracks that are meant to be manipulated for scratching)? |
Keva Sheward 13.05.2011 | As mentioned just recalibrate your jogs. Change the crossfader curve to sharp. You can learn basic scratches without even using the crossfader but you'll need an instant cut in for all of the advanced ones. |
Nedra Fresneda 11.05.2011 | The setting does quite the opposite, it disables the top and only scratches/scrubs when the deck is stopped. Recalibrate them and you should be fine. Touch sensitive isn't the right definition for the S4 jogs since you have to push them down, VCI series are touch sensitive. |
Harley Zitka 11.05.2011 | The jog wheels are touch-sensitive... as long as you have touch-sensitivity activated and the jog wheels calibrated, the slightest touch should stop or give your control of the platter. There really aren't any other "setting", so not sure what you are asking. |
