S4 Beatjump function?

S4 Beatjump function?
Posted on: 15.05.2011 by Sadie Steager
Hi Guys,

I love the beat jump function and would like to know if there's a way that I can tell the software to automatically jump from one marker to the other.

I have my cue points set so that I jump from one part to the other and back but, some songs I would like to just jump and skip certain parts everytime it's played.

Is that possible?

Thanks

I just thought it would be great not to change the song but just auto beatjump to the section cutting out some parts.
Cue points work great I use them very often.

Any ideas on Traktor not picking up my BPM's on certain songs when analyzed??
Rainer says its a glitch in TP2 - they are working on it. Have you tried the 'tap' facility?

Yes - store it as a cue point (got 8 of those!)

Just get Audacity or something and cut that section out of the song.

Thanks guys,

I checked the files. They are similar to the others.
I also thought it might be file format.

I've done the Tap thing and set the BPM manually.

Photojojo, I know I sound like a lazy person.
I do use the cue points to jump, I love it. BUT sometimes I'm talking to
a person and for that split second you miss it.
That's what I'm worried about.

The venue I'm starting at has an open DJ box and it's ground level. I hate that.
I like to be slightly elevated so that the people can't get to you so easily.

I never used the beat jump before, but now it's so much fun.

Are there any good 80 and 90's remixes on beatport available that you guys know about?
Or any remixers that I can check out.
I'm trying to setup a mild 80's to 90's hour slot for the start from 9 to 10.

Which other sites do you guys use for good everyday pop radio hit remixes.
Since Itunes won't allow me to buy from SA.

You want it to automatically jump to the next cue when it hits a certain cue all on its own and without you doing anything? Can't be done that way. you'll have to press the next cue when it reaches the part you don't like

what is your source for files? I see this only happens with certain mp3 encodings, but as said they will fix it, hopefully

you could just setup some cue points and make a recording of you playing the song and skipping the parts you don't like.

also the beat jump feature is awesome. definitely my favorite thing about traktor and one of the main reasons I bought the s4

Thanks Jonathan,
Any tips with why my software will analyze songs but for some reason won't show the BPM of some tracks?
