S4 questions
S4 questions Posted on: 18.05.2011 by Yee Bedilion Hey everyone, Just stocking up on my s4 videos as I wait til I can order my S4(on friday) I wanted to know if there was a known mapping for controlling the individual sample decks filters and volumes? From what I can see, you only have control over the deck filter and volume fader. trying to figure out if I want to use my midi fighter or my X1 along side the s4 when I get it. Maybe I could remap the effects knobs as volumes or filters up top while keeping the meters and loop display active? I'd like to have the midi-fighter mapped with some effects but I'm sure the X1 would be better mapped if the S4 is lacking these controls. I noticed in one of the dubspot tutorials that he had to demonstrate some of the functions with the mouse or something off screen. For some reason I thought you could hold down the sample trigger button and turn one of the knobs above the buttons for filter and one for volume. I dont believe its the case. Depending on how your using the sample decks I guess it might be a little too much control maybe? I did a search for S4, filter, volume, sample and nothing came up that directly answered my questions. So hopefully someone can enlighten me. | |

Leeanna Ayla 18.05.2011 | That mapping is an X1 mapping made to work with the sample decks. As is this one http://traktorbible.com/freaks/mappingview.aspx?id=207 |
Yee Bedilion 18.05.2011 | So with this mapping paddy, do you enable 8 triggers on the s4? I'll have to order that dvd this weekend. |
Leeanna Ayla 18.05.2011 | +1 on the DVD. Padi and I both use and X1 alongside the S4 though. Lots of various mappings on Traktorbible.com |
Nedra Fresneda 18.05.2011 | http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-NZ4gZE6zaw I'd recommend you grab the DVD from the store and get this for your X1 http://www.traktorbible.com/freaks/m...ew.aspx?id=199. There is a sample control TSI provided with Tracktor but mine is a bit more versatile. |
