Down grade from an S4 to an audio Scratch system
Posted on: 25.06.2011 by Margret Panzeca
If i sell my S4 and downgrade to turntables and buy an Audio 8 system.

could i still use the software that i got from my S4?
Because i don't want to have to fork out all that money again for the software.

Can you please help?

Just remember, you can plug 2 turntables into your s4. It costs $139 to get the Traktor Scratch pro 2 upgrade package when you own the s4 if you want to use timecode with your turntables.

If you sell your S4 and say you get $800, some of that money goes towards getting scratch software/sound card, and some of it will go towards replacing the s4 and getting a new mixer. In the end you may break even or end up with a couple hundred in your pocket, but you no longer have an s4.

It makes sense if you already have some gear like a mixer, but if you dont I'd keep the s4 and add TT's to it.

Downgrade? I don't believe that's a downgrade.

Only way you could do it is to sell the S4 to someone that already has at TP license so they are just buying the "controller"

I did with no problem and kept my scratch license.

No, S4 is a software and controller package so they can't be separated. You're bets bet would be to find someone sell scratch Duo and upgrade from that.
