Dunno HOW bouncy your gigs get tho...

The Crane Pro is super sturdy but it may not be wide enough to provide decent support for a controller the size of an S4.

You might want something like the Magma Control Stand for that.

I LOVE my crane stand pro. I was also apprehensive about the price, but after using it once, it basically paid for itself.

Was at a party a few days after buying the crane, and set up my laptop in my usual spot with the crane. Someone had the bright idea of setting a beer right next to it (underneath) and a few minutes later, lo and behold, beer everywhere. No real damage, but if the crane stand wasnt there, im pretty sure my laptop would have been toast.

Just got my standard in today. Quite nice but it's only holding up a tiny little ultrabook :P

I paid 48 shipped from an eBay vendor, worth it IMO.

i have had an uberstand and couple others, then finally got a crane after years of thnking it was to much. They are very much worth it, ever gig i go to people ask me about them. You can get the standard and they have another model comingas well which are not adjustable like the prob and for most people they will work just fine.

I lost the stupid little holder.

That being said, it's an awesome stand and I've used a lot of them, and there's a reason I finally broke down and bought this one. The only believe I could wish for that it had adjustable height as well. Because sometimes if you have turntables stacked on the tops of the flight cases in a cramped booth, it can be a pain to try to fit into places. But I imagine that's the case with most.

It's sturdy as fuck. And that's all the reason I need, I don't want my laptop wobbling about in the middle of a set.

You get what you pay for. In the case of the crane stand, you get something that can easily support a 10Kg mixer

still not convinced?

You could get a crane stand standard. I just ordered one. I don't believe I'm going to be touring anytime soon and even if I were going to play shows, it won't be often enough that I absolutely NEED the portability.

The standard looks stable enough.

Buy once, cry once. I finally broke down about a year ago. I dont believe you will find anything that is as sturdy and well built AND folds down so small.

Crane stand pro's are worth the cash, easy as hell to set up and folds away to nearly nothing,

Other options are Stanton Uberstand or Griffin stand.
