Djm 250 and efx 1000
Posted on: 07.02.2013 by Venus Wilt
So i did search but couldn't find an answer.
I'm believeing about buying a djm 250 and later a efx 1000 but my concern is if I can connect them both (probably the answer is through the aux) and how will be the sound quality.
I want to play at clubs and I want to be able to bring my set-up to there so I really need sound quality on loud enviromnents.

So how will be the sound quality and how should I connect them?
(Sorry for begginer questions)

The Xone will give you better integration with the EFX 1000 but only has 1 shared filter; whereas the DJM 250 is digital, has a dedicated filter per channel, and won't have any "pop".
So, just a final question.
Is the Djm 250 with Efx 1000 combination good enough to play in a club? (the sound quality)
Or is worth buying the xone 22 just because the integration with the efx is maybe better?

however getting many da/ad convertions is sound degrading..
if u play a cd in cdj 800 it does digital to analog conversion(da) then it goes back into the mixer and i believe actuallythe djm 250 is a digital mixer (to apply filters) so theres a ad/da inside the mixer aswell and then from mixer to efx1000 another ad/da to finally be routed to amplifier and then to the speakers.
many clubs have total shit systems so this is fine, however if u have a real analog mixer with send/return like a few a&h mixers you will skip many convertions, and be able to select specific channel for the effects.
perhaps the xone 22 is better for you if u want to use a effectbox?
anyways ive tried djm 250 and own djm 900 and the 250 feels and sounds great to me.

I thought about getting the xone 22 but I heard about the "filter pop", which I really don't understand what is, and if there is anyway to fix it.
I don't wanna buy a mixer and then can't use filters, and if I want to buy an efx 1000 later (I guess the xone 22 filters are not enough for mixing?) I would prefer spend less money on a Djm 250 than buying an Xone 22 and then couldn't use his filters.

Looks like you're the one with a Z2, not the one with a DJM 250 and 900.

The DJM 250 sound quality as a mixer is perfectly fine and not noticeably different from the 900. There are of course no FX on it.

Sound quality will be fine as long as you have a decent sound card/CDJs. You'll only be able to apply FX to the Master channel though.

I know that, but even though I wanna know if is possible to connect them both and still have a good sound quality, good enought to play in a club.

The quality of either mixer should be fine for playing in a club.

With the Xone you'll be able to apply the EFX onto each channel separately.

Thought about mentioning the digital nature of the 250 too yeah, there's not much leeway in sound quality with digital. And the filters are identical to the 900's.

The Xone 22 is a good shout as it would be a nice match for an FX unit with the Send/Return loop. There may be a few niggles due to it being an analogue mixer though, filter pop is one I've heard about a few times. And build quality from units made in China has been complained about a few times.

Well I have both mixers set up right in front of me with the same song playing through both and can't hear the slightest difference through my HD 25s. Any club sound system will be of much lower quality than a decent pair of monitoring headphones..

I do have a 900nexus, and have heard the 250 in a club setting. There is no comparison.
