S4 Flight Case Mods
S4 Flight Case Mods Posted on: 07.12.2010 by Nicolle Diller d1st ModificationAdded wires to limit the distance the laptop stand can travel. Used 4 screws and 2 pieces of random wire laying around. Maxes the movement to where i like it, just after the fx knobs to give me lots of space. 2nd Mod Added a C14 power inlet on the back and hard wired the mac charger and s4 power supply straight to it. That means only 1 cable for power, and no messy powerbars or extension cords. These will help make everything so hassle free. Hope you guys like it. PM me for a more extensive walkthrough. | |

Marisha Horick 23.01.2011 | DoubleD thanks for the inspiration! I copied your power inlet mod, but also soldered in a powered usb hub and used one of the ports to power 19 red LEDs. There are 4 on either side of the laptop tray, and the rest are on the bottom lip of the tray so they light up the controller. |
Maxwell Bonifas 06.01.2011 | im believeing of drilling a hole in the rail part of the flight case so my mac doesnt accidentally drop off the back if pushed too far |
Adil Laresh 28.12.2010 | I would like to see someone put some wheels and an entendable handle onto the case.. that would be quite useful and make the damn flight base easier to get around.. |

I tried to find a way to wire it to the inlet without doing so permanantly, but no such way was found by me. I ened up just soldering two wires straight to the blades (when the tip; us, euro, uk, etc was removed) and wrapped it in electrical tape. the other ends were "piggybacked" on top of the mac cord, and then finally all wrapped in electrical tape hope this helps! |

Hang Natelli 08.12.2010 | Wow looks amazing. I'm in Toronto too. Any chance you'd be willing to do a second one in the future for something in exchange? (I'd say "money" flat out, but I don't believe we are technically allowed to conduct business here lol). -PL>Y |
Leeanna Ayla 08.12.2010 | yeah, how exactly did you hardwire the mac charger and s4 power supply straight to it? |
Nick Ross 08.12.2010 | More pics. Plus nudes of your gf or sister. But seriously...more pics...I like what you did...how does the whole case look now (from the back). |
