FLIGHT case w/out shelf
FLIGHT case w/out shelf Posted on: 12.09.2011 by Latasha Enriguez Hey djtt, anybody ever use their Native Instruments s4 flight case without the laptop shelf? I want to get a hard case but don't want the laptop shelf and all the marathon cases are sold out.My concern about removing the laptop shelf will be that when I store it, will the s4 have room to hit the top of the box now that the laptop stand isnt there to stop it? Thanks again guys | |

Deeann Cheron 13.09.2011 | So here's my feedback. There is a metal metal disk on one side that slides down as act as a stopper (I'm assuming that's its purpose) however it should of been a hook to actually catch. as it only offers a little will resistance. I believe i will cut a hook out of the metal piece soon. easy fix. for the test though I didn't use the above The laptop tray on mine DID NOT slide off with laptop sitting on tray when both my wife & I had a push. She actually had to use both hands and a how many ........... does it take to change a light bulb? moment to remove tray and laptop. I even gave the table a couple of good nudges to try and shake off the whole thing but it stayed together Regarding transportation & storage with or without the tray is good either way. as that's what all the extra foam with velcro is for (stick under top part of case and it supports the s4 from moving) The only thing I didn't do was throw it around the room for you Maybe I got lucky with mine, or maybe there have been improvements with stock? IMHO the the pro's outweigh the con's & I would recommend the case to those who prefer that option |

Deeann Cheron 12.09.2011 | The tray slides on and off with ease but also has enough resistance that it wont slide off by accident |
Latasha Enriguez 12.09.2011 | I have absolutely no problem just using the s4 inside the flight case. I would even be willing to keep the laptop shelf in there if it easily comes off for performances. How easy does it slide off? |
Deeann Cheron 12.09.2011 | I havn't found the need to try, but will have a look when I get home toevening
& get back to you. I dont see it being a problem, as there is a lot of extra foam pads that come with the case. the s4 sits in the case firmly and and wont be going anywhere. Always a bonus to have a laptop tray, but if you are prefer not to use it Then I would sugest you get a piece of foam the same measurements as the case to lay over your s4 if you plan on uisng the remaining space freed up from the tray with other gear. Im happy with mine |
