Charline Dye 14.10.2011 | Gain knobs adjust the "volume" for the deck/track. If you have auto gain enabled, the software will attempt to level your tracks to the same volume. Sometimes it gets it wrong and will play a track louder or softer than the previous one. By pushing down on the gain encoder, you reset the gain to 0. You can check the auto gain on the tracks prior to mixing and adjust it for the ones it gets wrong by right clicking the track and selecting edit. Then go to the auto gain line and enter the gain it should have. Or if mixing on the fly, play the track with the channel fader down or xfader moved over so you don't hear it coming from the speakers while your current track is playing, and use the channel meters to adjust it to match the track that is already playing. The meters come close, but you may have to adjust slightly after bring the track in. The gain knobs also have nothing to do with the Fx unless you have remapped them. Hope this helps! I really would suggest reading the manual, and using it to answer questions first. Also using the search function of this community for previously asked and answered questions will provide answers. |
