S4 Plugging into Rane 68 Mixer--Sounds Underwater?

Just as it sounds--made sure (then made double sure) all the connections were correct and securely in place--tracks play, but it sounds like it's being run through a godawful filter--everything sounds underwater. I'm sure this issue has come up before, but I couldn't find an answer in my searching. Help? Thank you so much!

If that dun work, on the 68, plug in ur S4 to the aux inputs to see if there is still any difference , just to test that the s4 works normally.
If the problem persist even when u plugged into aux.
means it's something to do with ur audio routing in traktor, do provide ss of ur traktor settings if that didn't work

Also do try changing ur sample rate in
traktor, cheers.
From what i remember reading before, i believe the issue might have been the sample rate. I'm not sure why this would change with the 68 in particular (although really, i've only ever plugged into AH & Pioneer mixers) but perhaps they run on different settings typically?

It's entirely possible--I believe I remember switching decks, making sure no effects/filters were in place (because, again, it sounded like the filter had been set to a negative value) but I can't be 100% sure.

At least it seems positive that it was some sort of traktor issue.

Running audio out of the S4 main to a channel on the Rane there's no way the mixer would know it's coming from Traktor. It sounds like there was something up with the mixer. Were the channels set to line? If phone it would have been loud though. Did you try different decks in Traktor? I chased a problem like that for 20 minutes one time in my setup. It turned out the filter knob in the software had gotten bumped then hidden so I didn't see it.

i'm not sure it was that, we tried different RCAs, plugging it into different channels, restarting traktor/the controller, everything we could believe of. since then every other gig i've done has been perfectly fine (just like before that one) with the exact same gear . CDJs/turntables worked/sounded perfectly fine on it.

i really am of the impression that it's some sort of interaction between traktor and the rane 68, which has advanced interfacing with serato (it's a beast of a controller, particularly if you use serato). anyone know if it *could* be something internally with either the mixer or traktor that isn't jiving with each other?

Check your audio cables, I got same issue when my output cable was damaged and L and R wires was shunted.
