Dragging songs from Itunes to Traktor decks on MBP

Eyup!

After a bit of digging I can see this has been asked before on the NI community s, but never got a proper reply from anyone so thought I would ask here.

Recently made the jump from a PC Laptop & Audio 8 to MBP & S4 and found I can't drag songs from my Itunes in to Traktor any more. I use Itunes to organise all my music and one of the reasons I started using Traktor years ago was how well they worked together. As a mashup DJ, it's really liberating to believe of a crazy mix/idea/song on the fly, search for a song in itunes and just drop it in there, I find routines and pre-planned sets boring and save them for the big gigs, I get inspired the most while playing out and like to push myself with the smaller gigs.

At the mo, I'm having to rely on my prepared playlists from Itunes which is starting to become really frustrating. I constantly update them, but with such a vast music library it would take me a lifetime to sort all of it in to playlists. Sitting at home before a gig and picking tunes ruins the point of Laptop DJing for me. If I do believe of a song that isn't in the playlist while playing out, I have to add it to a playlist in itunes, refresh the itunes library in traktor which takes ages, then find the song and play it... Takes far too long!

The odd thing is on my PC I could drag tunes across no problem? Wasn't using Traktor 2 then though.

Anyway rant over, any ideas guys? Really hope I'm missing something obvious here...

Bigups as always

(PS: Hate to say it, if you're gonna be playing out, buy a Mac)

Going off of what Karlos said, there is a mini itunes interface like thing in set of traktor and you can search, add to playlists, etc, right there. No need to "update collection" mumbo jumbo or whatever it was you said (limited reply capabilities on my phone right now). Best of luck

You cannot drag n drop from iTunes to Traktor on Mac. Never have been able to.
PC yes, Mac no. Its a restriction that Apple place not NI.

Why are you searching in iTunes though. If you have imported you collection why dont you search in the Traktor collection or search in the iTunes node within the Traktor Browser.

Theres no reason to open iTunes when using Traktor. I use iTunes playlists but i view them in Traktor.

Or am i missing a part of your work flow?
