S4 with TSP?
S4 with TSP? Posted on: 12.11.2011 by Rhona Naron Is it at all possible to rock the S4 with TSP?Like is it possible to just import a TSI file and use it as a midi controller? Reason I ask is just because a friend of mine has an S4 and myself along with a friend of mine really wanna try it out but we both use TSP. | |

| Rhona Naron 14.11.2011 | What? Okay. I am not upgrading to Scratch. I have Scratch. My friend has the S4. If I were to use the S4 I would use it without timecodes. All I want to do is a "trial run" of the S4. I want to see if I can MIDI map the S4 within Traktor Scratch Pro just as a means of trying it out. The same way that it would be mapped in Traktor Pro itself. Reason for this being is because I can't get the S4 software that my buddy has onto my laptop because of the way NI registration works. If in the end I were to buy an S4 I would use it with the Traktor S4 Pro 2 w/e the fuck software it comes with. The end result/usage/output doesn't matter I just want to know if it can be used in the same manner within TSP as it can within TP. That TSI file that photojojo posted however should be perfect. (was hoping to use the jogwheel as an actual jogwheel but probably better off this way to be honest, can just use the knob to scrub through the track) |

Secondly, what's the point of me using an S4 as just an over glorified mixer. Which is also a massive waste of space if I am to use another "medium" for the timecode part of it. I mean yes for the size that it is and if you are to use it in that aspect it does consolidate a lot of usability into one sizeable package (also there is the alternative of the S2) however the reason we're looking at the S4 is because we want a standalone, one-piece means of access to Traktor. The point of this is for us to try the S4 in its own right and see if we want to potentially switch to one full out. I personally just want to dick around with one, not gonna lie I love my 1200s far too much. So all I want to know is, am I able to control Traktor Scratch Pro with an S4 the same way I would be able to with just Traktor Pro? Because to go out and buy an S4...try it out...return it and have to unregister it is just a massive pain in my anus. |
