S4 Irritating Loop Button Quirk
S4 Irritating Loop Button Quirk Posted on: 21.11.2011 by Eden Danel Hi all Ok, semi-random question for all of you. I don't know how common of an issue this is and if anyone else has encountered this, but after nearly a year of working a treat, I was playing around with some new material earlier this evening and discovered that my loop length selection knob isn't behaving as it should. When selecting loop duration, it jumps from 1/32 to 1/2 to 8 to 32 instead of 1/32, 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, 1, 2, 4, etc. I can still set loops to be as long as I want them to (4, for example), but I actually have to click on the number with my mouse and can't use the knob to select the length as I normally would because it skips over many of to options. This is the case for both decks. Just as a bit of additional info, I'm using my S4 in conjunction with a MIDI Fighter Pro Beatmasher. Don't believe that really makes a difference, though, as the first time I encountered this issue I was using the S4 on its own. This happened to me only once before, within a few weeks of purchasing the S4 (so, nearly a year ago). I could not figure out a way to get it back to normal and just chalked things up to being a n00b and maybe accidentally enabling a preference I didn't know how to disable. Unable to find another solution, I reverted to default settings, which made everything function normally again. I'm just wondering if there's any way to set things right without having to start over from scratch. Anyone dealt with this before and are there any fixes? It's a fairly minor issue, but I'd really like to get the loop length selection behaving normally again without having to revert to default settings and the setting up everything again. Maybe there's something simple right in front of my face that's gonna make me smack my forehead and go "duh" after I find out a fix, but I'd rather a simple fix that I just didn't believe of than none at all. Thanks for the help! - Ilyssa | |
