Disaster Weekend- S4 Damaged! Posted on: 29.11.2011 by Roselyn Goucher Hey all, been a user of the site and community

, well that was until my weekend!I had a big gig on Saturday evening , and after owning the S4 for 10 months now, this was my first time to really push it in a gig environment. 5 minutes before I was due to start, one of the DJ monitors fell on top my S4! I just looked in shock at what happened. So the damaged? Well the unit faired up pretty well, the left loop size knob has completely broken off, and a good few of the EQ and FX knobs are bent. By pulling them back into position, they are on the verge of completely breaking off. Both jog wheels are fine, faders fine, soundcard connections and all other knobs fine. I've connected NI regarding what can I do now, but no reply, so I have to choices in my head. Open up the unit and try to replace all the knobs myself OR sell it on as damaged. What do you guys suggest?? The unit has no other marks on it, apart from the the knobs broken etc. TBH given that its a plastic unit and being an ex-VCI 100 owner, I feared the worst when I was picking it up from the floor, but it stood up well. Any advice would be welcomed :-) | |

Georgianna Eurick 29.11.2011 | It seems only knobs are damaged. I would replace the damaged knobs and give it a go. I said that thing about the customer service not to have high hopes on them |
Roselyn Goucher 29.11.2011 | Ahhhhh, really? Is it that bad? looks like I'll have to post it on eBay here in the UK. It's a shame, the unit works perfectly :-( |
Georgianna Eurick 29.11.2011 | I hope I'll never have to contact with NI in the future. Users keep saying how shitty their customer service is (or does it even exist?) Hope you'll have a solution |
