Beatport BPM Readings
Beatport BPM Readings Posted on: 04.11.2011 by Marquis Deluke Hi ...... i have just started to play with my Traktor S2, so i have downloaded some tracks from Beatport. Some of the Tracks are not reading BPM's correct. Instead of say 120 bpm they read 120.45 bpm ect which does not help with the mixing. Any suggestions please?? Cpod | |

Ivan Guting 29.11.2011 | You have to spend the time to beatgrid your tracks correctly. Traktor isn't perfect. I suggest buying the Traktor 2 Bible, it will teach you all about it. |
Sherryl Nonato 29.11.2011 | So much in this thread lol anyway just learn to use the pitch fader and beat match the tracks. Then when you progress etc and want to do more with your mixing then grid all your tracks Most my songs are not gridded and I mix just fine |
Elliot Dunphy 26.11.2011 | ... check the beat gird? |
Leeanna Ayla 04.11.2011 | Maybe on the producers side, but not in Traktor. I have a whole slew of songs like that. |
Domonique Salmeri 04.11.2011 | I'm more used to writing stuff than DJing and I have to say that in all the time that I used to write music - I never set a track to go at a non integer number. I'd normally produce stuff at 145BPM, some times at 140, sometimes at 147, but never at 145.45 - sounds like something is wrong somewhere?? |
Marquis Deluke 04.11.2011 | Makes sence ill need to sit down and beat grid all my tracks sometime soon then...cheers mate. |
Leeanna Ayla 04.11.2011 | If you haven't set the beat grid then you typically want to stay away from sync anyway. |
Marquis Deluke 04.11.2011 | Your not advising someone to Sync...The big Sync button says it all Just wondered if there was something wrong with Beatport in the respect of not reading Bpm's correctly!? edited to add....i havnt beat grid |
Palma Hanslip 04.11.2011 | Adjust the pitch... Beatport gives you the BPM readings rounded up or down like most other sources that give you BPM readings. So while mixing if you have a track 120.00BPM and one at 120.45 just speed one of the tracks up or down.. It's called beatmatching. Or if you have everything beatgridded use autosync. (I thought i would never hear myself advising somebody to sync). |
