cue sound not working

cue sound not working
Posted on: 09.08.2011 by Roseanne Torstenson
guys i'm in desperate need of some assistance..

I went to practice on the s4 today and the sound from the master outputs in my speakers play normal, however my headphone cue is giving me no sound.

Before any advice is given however, here is what i have already tried..

The audio device is set to the s4. It is in internal mixing mode.

Master out is set-up correctly, cue is set to the settings it should be set too.

The volume on the controller itself for the cue is turned up to where you could hear sound if it worked.

The headphones do work i tried them in my laptop without the s4 and they played normal.

I have shut down my MBP, unplugged the s4, restarted and replugged the s4 back in and then booted traktor back up only to see the same issue.

This is a huge nuisance for me at the moment, i have done a Google search and had no luck on an answer. Any advice would be awesome at this point. They did work only a few days ago i have no idea what could have caused the outage. There appears to be no physical damage either to the headphone jack.

I didn't bother reloading the .tsi, I just reinstalled Traktor and the CUE finally worked!! I can now listen through my headphones. Earlier I used to spin trying to play a guessing game and setting my cue points prior to mixing. No need for all that now.

Thanks for your post!

Exactly what I was going to post. You need to go into TP2 settings and turn on the crossfader and you'll see three digital representations of the mix/cue/mic volumes on the front of the S4. If the middle "knob" appears to be all the way down (left), no movement on the S4's knob will activate it. Think of it as a master volume. Once you have the TP2 "knob" up to about halfway you can use the physical knob on the S4 to screw around with your volume.

I freaked out a bit too when this happened to me too haha.

Gapout-didn't you have a reply before that involved the cue volume knob in the program off to the right in mixer mode? that's what it was. of course, now, after the update, sync isn't working, lol. gonna do some searching on that one now. Thanks guys-

Did you have the CUE button selected? Or on the knob at the front of the S4Do you have it in the middle so you can hear the Cue volume an not just the master?

Thanks, Gapout. I'll check that out when I get home toevening . I kind of figured (hoped, really) that it was something simple like that. Thanks again.

hey guys-I have been using my S4 regularly over the last year, and a couple of weeks ago i hooked it up while playing out and i'm getting no sound from my cue output. Volume is up on the S4 and in the program, master out plays fine, headphones work when not hooked up to the S4. any ideas? any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

This happened to me on my Denon MC6K w/Traktor Pro 2. To fix, I had to delete my TSI and import another copy of the TSI in.

This might work for you on your S4
