Rosalie Novarro 23.12.2011 | out of more curiousity, what kinds of samples and loops are you guys using, and with what styles of music? call me old fashioned but i still do a lot of just a to b mixing, but im also playing fairly musically complex stuff like electro and progressive house, that would be totally ruined by putting fatman scoop over it.... i could see if someone was running just straight techno or pretty minimal tech house stuff that 3 decks might work... just curious to hear/see some examples of how youre using more than 2 decks. links please? |
Randell Juna 23.12.2011 | C+D = samples I can't live without them anymore... |
nayit ruiz jaramillo 24.12.2011 | Use Ch D for a mic at my student gigs. Dont use the Loop Recorder at all at these gigs so ive mapped those buttons for other uses. One is used as a Mic Talk Over button, its simply mapped to Hi,Mid,Lo EQ Kill so i can talk and cut the music with a button. Mapped the Loop Recorder knob to the headphones so i dont have to piss about with the little one on the front. Ch C i use for samples. |
Tennie Dornburg 23.12.2011 | only use for turntable/mic/or if someone wants to plug in |
Karolis Petrauskas 23.12.2011 | I generally don't use them but in the future (tomorrow LOL) my turtables will be controlling C & D. |
Leeanna Ayla 23.12.2011 | I don't have an S4 anymore, but I still use C&D pretty much exclusively for sample decks. |
Nedra Fresneda 23.12.2011 | C extra track deck D sample deck/live input |
Beverlee Bedrin 23.12.2011 | Deck C - extra deck for looping Deck D - live input for Maschine |
Kandra Fagler 23.12.2011 | or S2 + X1 ? i kinda prefer the S2 layout, smaller and less cluttered, plus i wont have to confuse myself with the A/C /B/D layering |
Laure Cantara 23.12.2011 | Same set up as Van Gogo. C for Sample & Loops, D for Mic. i'll also use C as live if I'm working with another DJ and we are running my speakers. this way my S4 becomes a simple mixer with my added effects. |
Neva Sparacino 23.12.2011 | I use it too for loops and samples that im changin all the time you know screams animals and some mexican rap samples jajajajaj |
Charline Dye 23.12.2011 | Uh sample decks? Joking sort of. Percussion samples and loops, a place for my loop recorder loops (see blog) on deck C, Deck D for mic input with Fx and yes samples (as I have buttons mapped on another controller to change deck D between sample track or live), and a way to keep a song going while you load a different song in the deck by copying a loop to a sample slot. |
