All this talk about the S4...(vs DJM-700) Posted on: 29.10.2010 by Cristian Carmona All this talk about the S4 going around made me believe....do I buy a S4 and a flight case and spend about 1,000.00 or do I buy a decent mixer? Yup I said the hell with it. I bought a DJM-700 to do with my CDJ-800's.I would love to rock out on the S4 but to it doesnt make sence for the gigs I do. I play at clubs that have cdjs & 1200's set up. So I just take my vci +X1 or play on serato. I needed a solid mixer and I the DJM-800 was out of my price range so I picked up a DJM-700 for dirt cheap. One thing that I like about the DJM-700 is that I can use midi out and run a cable to the audio 8. All i need to control is loading tracks and scrolling thru my playlist. Have fun with your S4 guys! Ill post pics and she my TSI for the DJM-700. | |
Random X 30.10.2010 | S4 being 50 x 50 cm? Last time I saw one, it was still A3 sized: A3 is 297 |

Edgardo Scraper 25.12.2011 | Do you have the .tsi map for the dim 700? if you did it would help me out tremendously, I've been having so much trouble mapping it. |
Edgardo Scraper 25.12.2011 | Ive had so much trouble mapping my DJM 700 to tractor. Does anyone have the tsi map that they would care to share? it would help me out tremendously. |
Regine Hulme 30.10.2010 | It is true I misunderstood the size, anyway the 4d it is 4 cm deeper but 7 cm less wider so it is quite the same Dimensions (WxHxD) 17 x 3.5 x 14" (432 x 88 x 358mm) |
Tatum Ansaldo 30.10.2010 | yeh, didn't believe it was square! |

Regine Hulme 29.10.2010 | To famoussas: the footprint in the s4 actually is larger than the 4d (50cm x 50 cm against 46 x 35.8) so if you can not find room for the xone will be more difficult make space for the s4. I own the xone and takes the space of a turntable with case. I made a flight case with a lap top slider and almost take to every gig I go. In bars sometimes you need to ask for a table but in evening clubs just take on turntable out and you are done. Definetely you can not compare the xone against the s4. Full analog filters, endless parameters for midi and completely analog mixer. The mixer you have is top notch and easily you can map it for able ton, logic, etc. |
Latoria Kavulich 29.10.2010 | I've mapped a couple of things on our mates '700. Bloody awesome mixer as well. |
Joanie Kublin 29.10.2010 | I'm believeing about selling my 4D and getting an S4 or DX. 4D is awesome for home use but useless in 90% of clubs as theres never room in the booth. Whats the new Traktor software like? |
nayit ruiz jaramillo 29.10.2010 | Where here? I've never been a mod here. Thankfully just a member and I love it. Still a mod at NI in fact I'm the MODERAKTOR (traktor/moderator;-) |
Tatum Ansaldo 29.10.2010 | Karlos, are you not a moderator any more??? soz to go off topic... |
Cristian Carmona 29.10.2010 | My main issue is where the heck am i going to put the S4 when I play at clubs? Atleast Im putting my DJM-700 in a flight case with my CDJs, so when I provided the system its going to be plug and play (even for serato) |
nayit ruiz jaramillo 29.10.2010 | Shaddap !!! |
Leeanna Ayla 29.10.2010 | Well that settles it. In my quest to be just like my hero Karlos I'll have to get a 1600! |
nayit ruiz jaramillo 29.10.2010 | I might eventually swap my Xero4 for a DNS1600 cus its Scratch Certified. The 700 is quality. Its a good choice. You dont need the S4 JesC. |
Leeanna Ayla 29.10.2010 | I was real close to getting the DNS1600, but decided on the S4+X1 combo instead. I believe you made a good choice with the 700 though. |
