| Kristin Wigen 30.12.2011 | ok guys... I can't go into too much detail as I am not sitting at home and only have afew minutes to type this...... I use Traktor-Ableton-Reason.... on my iMac and then create a network midi session so that my Macbook pro can sync to it using Tractor-Ableton-Reason and some wicked effects.....send the audio from my main record out back into the sound card on my macbook pro for recording the whole mix...... don't ask how I learned it cuz my wife hated me for days after taking the time to do it.... I am trying to create a tutorial so you can all do it too.... |
| Kandi Odom 28.12.2011 | I actually just did this but only using one computer!!! Personally i find it more practical to do t this way because in a gig situation hooking up the s4 + apc 40 + 2 laptops its almost unreal!!!! i just post the instructions on how to do it!!!!!! |

| Roselee Jasnoch 27.12.2011 | You need to set it up so either the midi clock is sent from traktor and ableton is synced to it or the midi clock in traktor is synced to the midi clock in ableton. Either run a midi cable between the two computers or if your on a mac you can do it over wifi or a ethernet cable. |

Is there a way to get Ableton to sync with Traktor when set up like this? I normally have both running on one computer, but my beat man wants to use his mac as well as mine, but is not in the market for a soundcard. Is it possible to sync the 2 computers? |
| Merilyn Sellards 05.05.2011 | just tried what said above, from an a4dj (or output with rca ends) on my second comp running live into the c input on the S4, routed in the config to channel C, now you can use your traktor effects on the ableton input pretty fat! then you can even use the loop recorder to record whatever crazy stuff you did and layer that with other things on a sample deck... this thing has so many possibilities |
| Jammie Cromar 02.05.2011 | Dont know how well it would work but you could run a cable from the line out on one laptop(or headphone jack) to the line in (or mic input) on the other computer and then run that audio out to the s4. Thats the easiest way...the best way would to get the second computer its on soundcard with RCA outs, then connect those to one of the ins on the back of the s4 on input C or D. I dont personally own an s4 and Ive never done this but in theory it should work. |
