S2 Sync Jitters?

S2 Sync Jitters?
Posted on: 11.01.2012 by Alix Schambers
Hey folks - As I continue to practice mixing and picking up cue points I notice that when i'm syncing one of the deck to the master deck sometimes the new song i'm cueing seems to be jumpy and jittery. I started noticing the past couple of days.

Please don't bash me for using auto sync. I'm a noob and would like to spend my time practicing transition rather than manual beat match.

is it traktor or is it my mp3s? Anyone else has had this issue? Please advise. Thank you.

Setup
Kontrol S2
Traktor Pro 2 with DJTechTools mapping
Macbook Pro 2Ghz i7 with 4GB RAM

Could it be the beat grids as well? I guess the only way to find out is to beat grid my tracks.
Beatsync is like an absolute sync. It syncs beatgrid markers on your different tracks at all times. So if you have a funky incorrect beatgrid that has uneven markers on lets say a drum roll or a change of style of beat within a song that confuses Traktor or whatever, beatsync will make the track your mixing in jump around because it's trying to sync the uneven beatgrid markers with a track that has regular spaced markers. Temposync will sync just like Beatsync, but the only difference is that it doesn't make any corrections after you have originally synced the track. So it doesn't make the track your mixing jump around if the master track has an uneven grid at one point. So basically yes, if everything was beatgridded right then it wouldn't do that. I don't know if thats your issue, but I do know Beatsync will do that.

Try changing the sync mode to temposync. Go to preferences/transport/ sync mode.
