Low main output on the S4
Low main output on the S4 Posted on: 28.01.2012 by Marlena Breyette Hi! I'm having some trouble with the main output on my S4, when setting the software knob to 0.0dB and turning up the hardware knob to full the main output level meters on top is only 2/3 or sometimes halfway up, even if i have a track playing with occasional clipping (e.g it hits red sometimes on the channel meters). So, even if the channel is clipping balls and the main output meter in the software is doing so the hardware is only halfway there. Any ideas? | |

Ngan Ernestine 29.01.2012 | as described in the manual, the main output meters are unaffected by the hardware volume knob on the S4. the output meters show the level of the signal before it leaves traktor's internal processing. i find the S4's outputs extremely hot. and i make the limiter hit almost never and i have my hardware volume knob at 2 o'clock or so. |
Charline Dye 28.01.2012 | In preferences there is a setting that will put you S4 at -3db and -6db if I remember right Check it out and raise it up. It's called the headroom setting. |
