is it possible???? Dual s2's
is it possible???? Dual s2's Posted on: 02.02.2012 by Kareen Kreft So Me and my buddy are trying to start a side project together as a Duo. we both have s2's. I was wondering if anyone knows if its possible for us to run 2 laptops and 2 s2's ? he controls his and i control mine and mix together what we are each doing individually. My thought was two run each of our individual set ups through a two channel mixer using its crossfader to mix and switch between what he's playing and what I'm playing, like a rane 61 or 62 for example. Is this close to possible or am i dreaming? If this is possible is there a better way of setting it up rather than using two s2's? any advantage to each using an s4 instead? | |

Jarod Perrodin 02.02.2012 | you can get a usb to midi cable, plug it into the audio interface and the other laptop, you'd get perfect sync that way, wifi midi can be a bit suss. The cables are really cheap too |
Kareen Kreft 02.02.2012 | thats what i was kinda believeing too after seeing the dubspot mothership setup. Would the laptops just sync midi clocks then and everything would be all good? |
Jarod Perrodin 02.02.2012 | You could do that, or you could get an audio 6 or 8 or whatever and hook the out of one s2 into that and then you can use it as a live input on traktor on the other machine, more fx and stuff might be cheaper and more useful than an extra mixer. You cant use 2 s2's on one laptop which is a shame. There are loads of ways to do what your after. As you both have the s2's it makes sense to only spend on something that you can get more use out of, |
