Hey all,

I lent my S4 to a buddy while I was traveling and haven't been able to get it to work ever since. There are a few interesting issues:

-None of the buttons work, but I can still play sound through the machine (clicking play in traktor with mouse)
-I use a mac, the s4 still works on my friends Windows machine.
- I have restarted the computer
-I have updated to NI's latest s4 driver.
-I have tried both the "restore" button and setup wizard.

What now??

It looks like the Controller Manager isn't registering the s4 in a port.
Update to the latest controller manager.

Ok, so probably I was describing it with a different name. It should be "controller editor"... I'm at away from my DJ computer so I couldn't get the name right. But here is the link to the available versions. 1.43 appears to be the latest.

It should be in the ni service centre app, I believe you can get it from there.
It normally installs when you install traktor, it should be in you applications folder, Controller Editor

You could try swapping to a different usb port & lead? Does the s4 have the same midi mode as the s2? Maybe its going straight into midi mode, both shifts do it on the s2. Good luck mate
