Hooking up the S2 to the Audio8?
Hooking up the S2 to the Audio8? Posted on: 13.02.2012 by Emil Holdefer I have a question regarding my set up. I have two turntables, the kontrol x1, PMC 08 vestax 2 ch mixer, and the audio8 running the latest traktor scratch 2. My question is I want to have 4 channels all together without upgrading my mixer. Is it possible to hook up the S2 to the audio 8 to use up both deck C and D to combine of 4 channels all together? | |

Tatum Ansaldo 14.02.2012 | I don't believe this is going to work. To have 2 Traktor decks routed into separate channels of the mixer you'll need to be in external mode, which means you won't be able to control levels on the other channels with midi. |
Emil Holdefer 14.02.2012 | yes time code |
Jarod Perrodin 14.02.2012 | are you playing regular vinyl or timecode? You could use the s2 for a&b and the turntables for c&d alot easier. You could run the main out of your mixer int say channel c of the a8 & set traktor to line in on channel c, that might be an easy way round? |

Tatum Ansaldo 14.02.2012 | Cool, that could work. But OP bear in mind that with that setup you'll have to use deck switch buttons so you won't have independent faders for all for channels, and you'll basically be making your mixer redundant. |
Jarod Perrodin 14.02.2012 | Well as standard you can control c&d volume together with the sample volume nob. I have made a map that covers everything like this, I dont wanna annoy anyone advertising it here, but it lets you have full control over decks c&d with deck switch buttons & volume control for each deck, you can adjust c or d while controlling a or b. I didnt get much sleep, sorry if that makes no sense |
Tatum Ansaldo 14.02.2012 | Can you control all 4 volumes on the S2? I suppose you could remap it, but I didn't believe it had deck switch buttons. |
Jarod Perrodin 14.02.2012 | After reading the first post again though, does look like he want to use 2 mixers? Just use the S2, it will control all four channels just fine, and be less of a double mixer evening mare |
Tatum Ansaldo 14.02.2012 | I don't understand what you want to do. If you're using your audio 8 and mixer to mix externally, you won't have volume control on an S2. You'll be able to control decks C and D, but you'll have to control levels with the mixer and put 2 channels on each input. |
Jarod Perrodin 14.02.2012 | Hi, I run a similar set up, audio8 2 1210's, an s2. You can set it up loads of different ways. Use the audio 8 as the audio device & the s2 as your mixer, I have a video on youtube showing that But yeah, it will do what you want |
