Set up ideas/advice - Traktor scratch pro 2 - DJ ACT

Hey all,

Drifted out of the scene for a while, sold all my stuff - but now jumping back in and really in need of some help/advice.

heres the set up that we need help setting up

2 x djs

Traktor Scratch pro 2 (X2)
2 x MacBooks
Audio 10
2 x 1210's (timecode)
1 x kontrol x1
1 x Kontrol s2 (Just bought!)
DJM 600

(1 dj on 1210's)

What we want to do to is have the 1210's running decks 1 & 2 (time code)
The x1 running all controls for decks 1 & 2 (effects, loops, cue points etc)

(1 dj on S2) Likely to with both positions here!

Then the kontrol s2 running decks 3 & 4 - control over effects 3 & 4, cue points (ideally all 8) loops - with a big focus on using the sample decks**

What do you all believe would be the best way to go about this? We are mapping ninjas either (Starting to learn - limited on available time)

Available options?

S2 on one laptop
Technics & X1 on another

^^Is this possible or would we be better off running one laptop for the above.

Apologies if this has been asked, did search before posting this.

All help would be much appreciated, also willing to put funds into fine tuning a set up like this.

Just sayin.
Aside from the fact that they need three channels on the mixer...? 1 + 2 for the timecode setup, 3 for the S4.

Thats one area I was unsure of, I'm assuming it needs to have a midi out on the controller to sync the tempo in Traktor? Is there no other way around this?

Cheers

Think we may just go with the manual beat matching route, and integrate that way.

http://community .djranking s.com/showthread.php?t=16677 << Seems a popular approach here.

Looks Like I need to hunt down a better mapping for the S2 to fully get what I want, which is more controls over the loops - Any recommendations?

The set up above is what we've got to work with,

My friend already had the Traktor scratch/1210/x1 set up

And I've just purchased the S2 as a cost effective route back into mixing as I went from (5-6 years back) 1210s & vinyl - 1210s Serato - Fully digital Traktor Pro with Arcade VCI - (sold mixing gear ) - Logic Pro (production) - Sold everything

Now Im starting all over again lol.

Are there any current mappings for the S2 with better controls over the sample decks?

Thanks for the input so far
