Possible to swap channels?

Possible to swap channels?
Posted on: 16.02.2012 by Annalisa Shogren
Hello all,

Been trying to work this out and I'm sure I read somewhere that it could be done.

I want my vinyl decks in Traktor to be decks A & B or at least appear where they currently are if it's possible!

Thanks!

That may not be the actual name (I don't have my Mac with me), but it is where you can change to view different track information on your decks. I know the option is there. (It may be under the Deck Layout option. there are a bunch of dropdowns)

Update:

Check under the Deck Heading section:

hmmm...

maybe you need to calibrate the pitch faders.

Not as much when the button is reset.

IMO, i believe it's just fine.

it's fluctuating a little more than I'd like, but it can be because I am really anal about those things.

I will look at mine when I get home toevening and post a video too. I believe mine may fluctuates just a little less.

does it do the same when you have the pitch reset button enabled on the turntable?

Here's the video. Sorry it's upside down. Only realized after.

Ok.

Just so you know, I am using 1210 MKII's and it fluctuates, but very very slightly. I know this is normal, so it doesn't bother me.

Yeah cool, I'll post a video of it tomorrow. I'm sort of believeing it must be normal as both decks do it?
Albertina Fay

Yes.

I believe what you are describing is normal. If it bothers you, you can change it so it shows as steady.

Since you are using an input that is not digital (analog turntable), it is impossible for it to always remain at the same exact speed, as it does when you are playing with an internal deck (deck controlled by S4 or software only).

If you post a video, I will be able to tell you if it is normal behavior, or not.

Yeah found it, but doesn't that just mean it will show a steady BPM but will still actually fluctuate?

Glad you got the channels all sorted out.

It will always fluctuate when using turntables, but should only be slightly.

For example, if the BPM is 128.05 on a track,
it is normal for it to go to 128.04, or 128.06 or maybe even 128.07/128.03.

Is this what's happening?

If it is fluctuating more than that, your turntable could be the problem.

If it is only fluctuating as I stated above, you can go to the Settings and change the way the BPM is displayed. I believe they have one called steady BPM.

Hope this helps.

Yeah, it worked when I tried it a few days ago. Very happy. Thanks

Although the pitch is still constantly fluctuating, I'm guessing this is just something that Traktor does?

I am using the S4 and 2 1200's connected to channels C and D for DVS.

I went into the swap channels in the menu, and my 1200's are now deck A and B in the decks on the screen and on the channel fader on my S4.

Is this what you want to do?

Doesn't that only swap the audio and not in the program? E.g. Track C is still in the same position?

Sorry I don't really understand the question, what is the situation and what are you trying to do?
