is there any way to duplicate some of the effects that Hawtin, Carola and Dubfire use in their sets with just traktror&S4?

most specifically the freeze/delay they use that traps a sound and freezes it without dropping out everything else? If anyone needs i can probably find a vid link with that being used. I have been told the only way to do this is with running Ableton also, but was hoping to not need an additional laptop/controller/etc

also if adding an X1 will help(or the new native controller/software coming this summer) that's an option.

Not really. Just keep a copy of the song in deck C with the volume fader down. When you want to use it, just freeze deck C and open the volume fader. Can't see it getting much simpler than that...

Or you could just record samples of the exact echoes you want and hit them at the right time.

Just off the top of my head, I would believe you could do this pretty easily using a duplicate track. Just keep the duplicate channel off until you hit the freeze button.
