Connecting my s2 to my xone 42
Posted on: 23.02.2012 by Verona Candia
Hey guys, I was just wondering is there anyway to connect my s2 to one of my xone 42's channels? All i want is to get sound into my mixer and out my speakers, I don't want to mix on my xone. I tried connecting to output on the s2 to the input on my xone and I got no signal/sound.

Thanks

Hmmmm, I managed to get sound now, but I got a diff problem. I am required to put the gain up all the way on both my mixer and on my S2 channels to get some sort of sound, and it is pretty quiet. What am I missing here?

It is but it does have a soundcard for recording/effects which is connected to my computer at all times. I have tried plugging in my s2 in to my speakers and it works flawlessly. Lastly, yes the channel does work with my CDJ, and I did try to plug the s2 in channel 3 (line 1/2) and channel 4 (line 1 and phono 1). Nothing works :-\

The xone 42 is an analogue mixer, it doesn't have a sound card. Have you tried plugging the S2 RCAs directly into a speaker system? Does the channel of the mixer you're trying to use work with other inputs such as CDJs?

Yes I did mess around with the levels in the back :-\. I know it can be done, ive seen a DJ do it in a club. Can it be that my xone just doesn't work this way? Can my xone soundcard be interfering somehow?

Have you turned up the level for the RCA connector on the back on the S2? Is it set to main?

I tried that. I got the RCA cable which was provided to me by DJTT, and I plugged it into my red/white output on the S2. Then I plugged the other end into my xone 42 channel three. I tried both input 1 and 2 (both are line), and I got no connection at all. My channel lights were not working and no sound was going through.

Run an RCA from the master out of the S2 to a channel in of the :42. Make sure the channel is set to receive Line input and not Phono.
