Traktor S2 user mapping CLITCHING/ERROR

Ok recently i had to buy another S2/new laptop because my original S2 was stolen a month ago along with my laptop.

So with the new laptop and new S2 controller in hands. i have noticed that the NI user mapping for the S2 setting is different from my old set up.

with this setting. when you pressing hold SHIFT BUTTON (M1=1) and EFFECT BUTTON (1, 2 or 3)...it selects different effects in the bank. Ok thats cool, a quick way to change effects with touching the laptop.

BUT when I delete that option in the mapping....doing the same motion turns on the effect. and pressing the effect button alone does the same thing. so pretty much now there are 2 ways of turning on that effect.

so my question is WHY DOES IT DO THAT? i have checked everything to my knowledge of why it does this, and i couldn't figure it out for the life of me

the effects selection wasn't part of the user mapping in my old set up.

the mapping stuff its pretty straight forward, if you start on a new page. because who knows how people did to their mapping, figuring out how they did it could be frastrating
im ever so slightly envious of the fact that u solved ur issue & i would assume that u learnt from it
