S2 Midi Mode Mapping

S2 Midi Mode Mapping
Posted on: 18.04.2012 by Ashly Romney
So I'm trying to create a mapping for the S2's midi mode but have been getting some weird behavior. For example, when mapping the hotcue's I use the "Hotcue select/store" command mapped to the usual hotcue button but it only seems to work when the hotcue LED is in the off setting. So basically what is happening is I hit the hotcue button, it jumps to cue and plays it, then if I hit it again it turns the LED off but doesn't replay the hotcue until I hit it one more time. It seems like the hotcue's LED state carries over from the NHL mode, which ends up interfering with the MIDI mode. So it's almost as if I am not starting with a totally clean slate while in midi mode. Has any one else encountered this or knows what I could be doing wrong? Thanks.

You need to go to the controller editor (the external program) and reasign the buttons behavior to trigger instead of toggle and switch the LED On to MIDI Out. This will prevent the double pushing and ignore the hardware action on the LEDs, you will need to map them yourself in Traktor.

Double check all buttons are in this mode.

Does any one here even use midi mode? I feel like if any one does this would be something they have run in to, or otherwise I could have a defective unit but I don't believe that is the case.
