S4 mapping in Ableton issue

S4 mapping in Ableton issue
Posted on: 10.05.2012 by Tatum Untiedt
I'm attempting to map my S4 out into Ableton, which is going smoothly with the exception of the buttons (Cuepoints 1-4 and the sample deck launch buttons) taking two presses to activate their function. Not sure if this is an issue with the S4 in midi mode or Ableton, but for what its worth i have the tracking set to relative in Ableton.

Any insight on this issue would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

Thanks for the help, fixed it. One additional question: Is there a workaround for ableton mapping any sample controls (such as loop start/stop) to all tracks?

Example: Im trying to set the loop controls on Track 1 and Track 2 separately to the left and right of the S4 respectively. When i map the buttons to the left tracks loop controls, it overrides whatever was on the right tracks and makes it a general mapping for any sample. However, it then ceases to work for anything but the sample that I assigned it to.

Open the Controller Editor (the NI program) and change each button to act as hold.
