S2 not working
S2 not working Posted on: 12.05.2012 by Lorretta Halaska Hi, I recently sold my kontrol S2 via ebay and the provided traktor pro 2 software to someone else. I never registered either to myself. The guy who bought Traktor is not having any problems but the guy who bought the S2 can't get it to work. Apparently the USB light turns on and the computer recognizes the S2 soundcard option within Traktor but when he chooses, the S2 doesn't kick on.I believe ultimately he wants to use it as a midi device for another program. Is it possible that the S2 wont turn on because the traktor registration that was provided with the S2 is already registered to someone else (the guy I sold Traktor to)? Is this some kind of protection scheme that NI uses? He has uninstalled the drivers and correctly installed them a couple times. Any clue what is going on? thanks for your help. | |

Lorretta Halaska 12.05.2012 | he's demanding a refund because he believe he should just be able to plug it in and it should work... like his other midi controller. what a headache. |
Jame Shelling 12.05.2012 | S2 with virtual DJ ? Smh |
Johnetta Olewine 12.05.2012 | I thought the USB light flashed if your computer is running on battery power. At least it does in TRaktor |
Rocco Fiveash 12.05.2012 | The USB light will flash when it is not recognized AFAIK.. if it is solid, I am sure it means the S2 is ready to use. |
Lorretta Halaska 12.05.2012 | He said that he can see the option to select the S2 as the soundcard. Hopefully this is the solution. Can you confirm that there is no license protection just because I sold the provided traktor prog to someone else? thank you for your help |
Johnetta Olewine 12.05.2012 | yeah the rest of the lights won't just suddenly work unless he has a VDJ mapping that maps these functions. Can he see the S2 soundcard in VDJ? |
Lorretta Halaska 12.05.2012 | as far as I know, only the USB light comes on, which only indicates it has been plugged in. I don't believe the rest of the lights have come on. Will the rest of the lights not come on unless he has mapped it to VDJ? Not sure if he's mapped. I'll ask. |
Johnetta Olewine 12.05.2012 | If the light comes on and the soundcard is recognised its working. Has he mapped the s2 to VDJ at all? |
Lorretta Halaska 12.05.2012 | no, not cracked. like I said, traktor came with the S2, which I sold to someone else. he's trying to use it with virtual dj. I believe he's also tried using it with the demo version of traktor. regardless, shouldn't it still turn on? |
Somer Vanstraten 12.05.2012 | Cracked traktor 2? |
