A few hopeful thoughts about the transition to Traktor 2.5 from an S4 owner. Posted on: 23.05.2012 by Le Quilantang Bought my S4 from GC back in Feb this year to replace my last setup that was crapping out on me.Since then I've been dealing with the crappy out-of-box stability that it has with windows users. Even applying the DJTT Audio Pro Optimizer Batch file every time I load up traktor is still leading to the occassional audio drop out and total seizing of Traktor until I unplug and re-plug the USB for the S4. So sitting around when I heard about the 2.5 free upgrade, I have been getting rather antsy and excited to see if the 2.5 upgrade will yield an improvement in stability for window users. I know they addressed the BPM issue, which frankly is awful compared to previous versions of traktor. Granted this is coming from a D&B DJ and it seems like Traktor really struggles with grid layouts for D&B tracks, especially the older stuff from the oldschool jungle days. Even with all the little tricks I've picked up on to minimize this issue, it really still sucks when I am doing an on-the-fly mix and I have to hastily fix the grid. Anyways, yeah anyone hear anything about stability improvements for us S4 owners? I still have an extended Pro Coverage warranty with GC which basically means even if I snap my S4 in half I get a new one for free.. so at this point I might try and hit them up about it again (last time the guys at NI just forwarded me to the .bat file as a way to fix my issue) | |

Nedra Fresneda 23.05.2012 | I would wait a few weeks and let the dust settle before updating. Unless you are buying a F1 it makes no sense to risk it before knowing if the update introduces any bugs. |
