Traktor S4 glitches, skips and drop outs! Posted on: 31.05.2012 by Joesph Wolgamot Hello there, I'm a new member here and I decided to register so that maybe someone would be able to help me out with this:I recently purchased a Traktor S4 and last gig was a complete mess, I was terribly embarrased as the audio kept on freezing and crackling and it was pretty noticeable. These are my computer specs:
I'm currently running Traktor 2.5, S4 driver version 3.0.3. I've seen that many people is experiencing the same issue with this device, I've been searching for a solution but nothing seems to help; I have disabled wi-fi, bluetooth, defrag'ed my HDD, I went through every single step the "troubleshoot guide" says and still my Traktor keeps on freezing and crackling! My main concern is that I have a gig soon and I don't want to go through the same situation again, it was very embarrasing the las time. Please, if anybody has a solution for this let me know! Thank you, Renzo. | |

I tryed many things, such as installing the latest drivers, USB Buffer changing, Process buffer and Sample Rate. Nothing seems to work out. I so desperated, I contacted NI and they told me to try different things and mostly make a new partition so It will only Use the Traktor S2 and give it the power it needs. I find this completely ridiculus paying for something 650 to 1000 $ and not being able to play with it as it should. Is realy GAY (no offense to GAY people) But anyway I'll probably try this Partition thing, and if it doesn't work out, then Fuck off, I'll buy a MacBook Pro. My Computer Setup: AMD Phenom II x6 T1090 3.2 Ghz 8 GB or RAM Geforce GTX560 1GB dedicated Graphic Card USB Root Ports sleep mode turned Off BTW this is a Desktop and not Laptop, only to tell you on any Windows machine you'll have the same fucking problem. I'll hope it turned out well for you, leave a message to let me know what you did and if the reinstalling process worked fine for you |

Probably the new Remix Decks and so on demanding even a bit more cpu power than Traktor needed in older versions just gave your system the death blow. My laptop is way more performant than yours (2,7Ghz i5, 4GB Ram) and also experiences some crackles from time to time (when running 4 decks with effects and recorder on while using the jogwheel to be honest). To me it seems like you'll need to buy a better system... |

Debrah Mincy 10.06.2012 | I found something out. My Traktor Kontrol S2 was connected to a USB Root Bus wich already had some Storage device connected to. Each USB Root Bus can manage to have 500mA of electrical power. I had two things connect on this one but not enougth energy. So my Kontrol S2 kept disconnecting. Yesterday I tryed a different USB port and everything seemed to be fine. |
Annalisa Shogren 11.06.2012 | Just use the version before 2.5. The minimum specs have gone up on this version and it's very demanding. |
Britt Roback 10.06.2012 | Arn't the recommended specs 4 gig of ram? Plus shouldn't your laptop be 32 bit? I would get more ram. I optimise my laptop using all the tips on here and on the native website. There is a script bat file on here somewhere also for optimising. Plus I use game booster as another tool. Defo disable your wifi and turn off your anti virus and firewall. Good luck with it. |

Rocco Fiveash 09.06.2012 | I had the same problem with my Vaio .. i just started uninstalling all devices (blue tooth, webcam etc) and I upgraded my video drivers, the load barely moves past 1/4 . |

Joesph Wolgamot 06.06.2012 | I'll try restoring my laptop to its original settings with the recovery discs and I'll just install the Traktor 2.5 and try it out without any of the programs that I currently have installed... I'll let you know if it works... |

Len Lukawski 31.05.2012 | Send me your laptop and $200 and I'll get it working. Cheaper than a Mac by some stretch. |
Sylvia Greener 31.05.2012 | You already had a look at this: http://www.djranking s.com/2011/08/1...-power-script/ http://www.djranking s.com/2011/10/0...-dual-booting/ Quite helpful as well: http://blog.dubspot.com/optimize-you...ic-production/ |

Joesph Wolgamot 30.05.2012 | I read that topic before, I just wish I didn't have to create a partition but I guess it would be a much better option than buying a Mac! Now, what programs did you use to create the partition and how many GBs did you assign to the Traktor partition? Would I have to transfer all my music to the new partition? |

Joesph Wolgamot 30.05.2012 | Yes scamo, I've adjusted the latency and sample rate to every possible option and still nothing, I have recalibrated all knobs, crossfaders, jogwheels, etc. Still audio pops and crackles, it's driving me nuts! |
Rey Holubar 30.05.2012 | Have you tried adjusting the latency settings? scamo |
