Adding BPM on Traktor Pro 2 Software
Adding BPM on Traktor Pro 2 Software Posted on: 26.04.2012 by Garfield Scheurich When I load up a track for the first time, Traktor auto-writes a tag on the song that does not include BPM. How do I manually attach the BPM to songs on Traktor using my Mac? I try and right click and all I get is [Import to Collection/Show in collection] ? I need to know the BPM of my tracks without having to load them to see. Thanks in advance guys... and gals. | |

Renaldo Facemire 21.06.2012 | That is a great analogy Weaver. |
Garfield Scheurich 27.04.2012 | I'll give both options a try and get back to you with the results. Thank you. Edit: After loading and tagging all my tracks, I organized them in track list by BPM and got the results I wanted. Even got the cover art I was looking for. Thanks again for the help Weaver. |
Kathleen Mcoy 26.04.2012 | You can't edit information when you are looking at the list of songs under iTunes in your browser. You can only do that from the Track Collection. Remember that when you look at iTunes from within Traktor the software is just trying to be helpful by allowing you a peak at what iTunes has stored in it's library records. Think of it like a regular old library only that in this case a huge portion of users use a piece of software (iTunes) to help them keep those books organized. iTunes isn't "the books" it's just a tool that helps you organize and find those books. iTunes keeps a file of it's own (which is what it calls your iTunes Library) that is essentially just like how you would locate a book in a regular library,... you go to the computer terminal (or card file system in old library systems) punch in what you want and it points you in the right direction where you then go get the book and do your thing with it. Since so many people already organize playlists in iTunes and people use iTunes for casual listening as well, NI made the choice to support allowing you to "read" iTunes' library file. This makes it a lot easier so that people can use the same playlists in iTunes and Traktor. But only iTunes can edit it's own library records. That's where you are getting caught up. If you want to edit what iTunes believes the BPM is then you have to do that from within iTunes. Once you load a track into a deck and Traktor auto-analysis it then that track is also listed in Traktors "Track Collection". From there you can actually edit the information because Traktor edit's it's own library and in the case of everything but WAV files saves that information directly to the file itself as well. If you want iTunes to then see that BPM you have to go back into iTunes and go into the mode to edit that track and then iTunes will go recheck the file for it's information and re-update it's library with the BPM that you added manually. After doing that the next time you launch tractor and look Hope that helps! |
