S4 Booth Outputs

S4 Booth Outputs
Posted on: 25.06.2012 by Gilda Schreider
So me as many others have a need for booth outs and being that this is a huge issue I need to get this taken care of fast

This is what I was advised to do get a mixer that was recommended by a sweetwater rep to use a Mackie 802-vzlz3 at times I do need additional mike outs and can use the additional channels they do have a smaller one but this is perfect

Here is the Mackie http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/802VLZ3/

He said they way I should hook this up is with a Y cable out from the S4's headphone jack and not plug in the S4 direct to the mixer...

Does this make sense to anyone

^^ you got it.

and no, you should not be able to notice any difference in quality.

this!! Use one pair of the S4 outs to the PA system, or house mixer. The other pair of outs on the S4 will go to the Level Pilot.

this will allow you to control the volume on the booth monitors. Now remember, since both outputs on the Traktor S4 run parallel, your booth output cannot be louder than your "main out".

In other words, you cannot have your booth monitors on (playing in the booth) and have your "mains" off on the dance floor.

get me?

Would I plug the mains into this as well or would I use the 1/4" as my mains as I usually do and then plug this into the RCA's and the monitors into the Level Pilot

I am still learning so I am kinda of confused I even ordered the Traktor bible trying to read and get my hands on experience as much as possible I appreciate all the advise and other info many others at the community give so I appreciate it

Also being that the signal is being split will this cause any audio issues as far as quality or volume?
