Two answers from NI concerning future s4 improvements

Kontrol S4 Jog Mode currently does not apply for sample decks (and its
descendant Remix Decks). This is something that our development means to change
because the Jog Mode FX and Filter should work for any kind of deck- especially
now for the Remix Decks, which are functionally the same as a full Deck. If you
can scratch to them you should also be able to apply all the other conveniences.

The option to store the Source for Loop Recorder as a parameter in the Settings
file has not been implemented yet as few users find it annoying. You have a valid
point and therefore I am filling in a feature request on the matter.

Sounds good to me.

Hey Yul. Thanks for that. I hope NI also remembers to program in the holding of the selected jog mode, when you switch between decks on the S4. Meaning, if you selected FX jog mode for deck A, switch to control deck C, then switch back to Deck A, then the FX jog mode should still be on for deck A. The same should go for switching between deck C and A.

Easily mapped to either NHL or MIDI mode's.

I always thought there should be a midi command to select the loop recorder source.
mmmh. Me too for obvious reason. But as in the end not that many users actually do use the loop recorder and most them 'few users find it annoying' (ie not many did send a request to NI, they don't see that as a critical improvement needed to be implemented and has been delayed). Better one day that never.
