No Sound Problem via Internet Broadcasting with Traktor S4 Posted on: 18.07.2012 by Joi Smoller I've been DJ on the internet with Traktor Scatch Pro & Traktor Pro 2 (via the Audio 8 external sound card) for the last two years now and had just been using the software to mix with. I have my own Icecast stream that I use to broadcast with on the internet. I've done well over a hundred gigs now on the internet via this method, and while not ideal for mixing, it's worked fairly well, with lots of good feedback from people who have heard me mix by way of this method. I recently purchased and installed the Traktor S4, which I'm really enjoying. My problem right is as follows: I've duplicated my broadcasting inputs for my stream into the software preferences and when I hit the required button on the Traktor Pro 2 software to broadcast with, the light goes solid "blue" to indicate that my stream is connected. However when I go to listen to my stream on the net I get no sound at all. I've messed around with several approaches to fix this problem but so far I have not solved it. I'm assuming that there is some kind of problem related to the internal sound card built into the S4 and/or a problem with the internal sound card in my computer. When I put my IP address & port into a web browser, my stream shows up and indicates that I have 1 listener (being myself), it shows the name of the song I'm playing too on the web site, so I know that my signal is getting on to the net. However, when I launch Windows Media Player or a similar media player to hear my stream I don't hear the music. Does anyone have an idea on how I can work around this problem? I'm using a desk top PC to run my software with and my operating system is Windows XP. Thanks in advance for any help anyone can provide. | |
