s2 + TraktorPro2 + Envy 14 issues!! help!
Posted on: 26.07.2012 by Michiko Pulfrey
So just got my Envy 14 Beats edition in the mail today, my macbook got spilled on my someone who wont admit it (but we wont get into that) anyway, i installed traktor 2 and put my s2 up and got some songs into my itunes to get started, and it crackles a decent amount, and has short breaks in songs sometimes too. One deck actually stopped playing. When two decks are up it runs extremely slow. The cpu meter is in the red even when I use the Traktor Optimizer seen on DJTT, and configure the windows system for performance, not visuals. Not saying my macbook was never i the red - but it ran so damn smooth, but I dont have apple money until im out of financial BS. I'm not sure what to do, and I'm more musical than technical. Anyone know some quick fix? Or if I can upgrade my RAM or something?

thanks in advance,
Rob

p.s. I'm downloading the latest version of traktor as we speak to see if that wont help me even the smallest bit.

hardware error. it's probably made at the same sweatshop he get's his horrible, horrible headphones made. (i really cant stress enough what piece of shit those headphones are)
just return it for a new one. Although, I'd rather go for something with a bigger screen than 14", at least if you want to see anything in the remix decks.
I have an ASUS k72f, it's like 500 bucks when it was new. totally mid-line, nothing fancy. and over a year old.
runs traktor 2.5.1 without any hiccups at all (with an S2), unless i set up my latency settings like an idiot. i have about 5-6 ms.
i even use it for everyday stuff, but I dualboot into Linux, and keep the Win7 partition offline, so no spyware, adware or cpu hogging antivirus software. streamlining win7 for audio use is also a smart move.
