Syncing Reason 5 with Traktor S4 + Traktor 2.1.2 Posted on: 28.03.2012 by Renaldo Buzzo Good Day Everyone,Would someone be so kind as to provide a detailed tutorial on how to sync Propellerheads Reason 5 with NI Traktor 2? The objective being to automatically send the Traktor Master Clock to Reason - which in turn would automatically adjust its own BPM. Is there a possibility to achieve this result ? If yes, can it be done using a single computer ? Thank you for your time and answers, don | |

Renaldo Buzzo 07.11.2012 | Hi Dillinger23, according to first video among the ones - this is not possible. I could complete the process provided by GI Trackt with Ableton (once again great post GI Trackt), but not with Reason. Another issue I came across is that while routing my M-Audio sound (Ableton Live Output) to the input line of deck C at the rear of the S4 works, I do have a gain problem: either the sound is to weak, or completely distorted. Good Luck |
Lizabeth Peight 07.11.2012 | hey there! I wish to do the same, but I only have the controllers single soundcard output. Is it possible to route reason sound output back into traktor so they both go out of the traktor soundcard output.....? |
Renaldo Buzzo 28.03.2012 | Hello GI Trackt - thank you for your detailed reply! This looks great, I will go ahead and try this setup tomorrow evening - and provide relevant feedbacks. Take it easy - don |
Barton Rigazio 28.03.2012 | In Traktor's controller manager, you're going to want to add a device which will be your clock that you're sending out to Reason via a "virtual port" within your computer: 1) Open your controller manager in Traktor 2) Click "add" and then "generic MIDI" 3) rename it "Clock" using the "edit" and then "comment" 4) Make sure that the OUTPORT is set to one of the following: "Virtual port" (if using Mac) or "LoopBe internal midi" (if using PC. You can download the LoopBe1 driver right here: http://nerds.de/en/loopbe1.html) 5) Next in preferences, in "midi clock", make sure "send midi clock" is ticked 6) Go to Traktor, click the metronome symbol underneath the FX in the top left. 7) Under "send" click the Play/pause (this was start sending midi clock to reason) and then click "sync" in time with your music! In Reason's audio preferences, make sure that the midi clock settings areset to "virtual port in" (if on Mac) or "loop be in" (if on PC). I'm not familiar with Reason but I'm sure it's audio settings are similar to other softwares. These videos should help too (They are for sync'ing Ableton and other controllers to Traktor, but will do the exact same thing you're looking to do): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeEPnOpqZsY http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tNnMHg5U8Cc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B6KX8DvUzi4 Gluck dude! |
