Second pair headphones
Second pair headphones Posted on: 15.02.2013 by Venus Wilt So I'm going to buy some Allen Heath XD2 - 53And I was wondering if when I'm going to a gig I really need to take some second pair of headphones since if my Allen Heaths break I won't be able to beatmatch and that would ruin my evening . What do you believe? And which would be some nice and cheap secoond pair of headphones? | |

For me, its function before form. i.e. I'd rather spend my money on headphones that perform better, rather than make me look like an overpaid prick. |

Kandra Fagler 18.02.2013 | the koss pro dj 100 costs equivalent to just a few pack of smokes and it has good reviews on head-fi etc, im gonna pick one up for shitz and gigglez (and probably to watch movies or play games) i currently have: audio technica ath-m50 / HD25 / Sony MDR-V6 / HDJ-1000 (Broken, duct taped together) the HD25 is a solid performer but after some years you WILL have issues with the sound cutting off on one side (and needing to wiggle the connections to fix it) - its a good headphone for djing though coz its super light weight and sounds good, plus other than the sound cutting off it will probably last you FOREVER , if you can get em at a good price the HD25 is a good investment that will last you a long time |
Audrey Pinda 17.02.2013 | I personally dislike "on" ear headphones. That discounts the HD-25-II's and the AIAIAI TMA-1's (which I have owned previously). For a backup set of cans, I either recommend getting the exact same set that you use and love. Or just going without whatever fits your budget. For me, I use HDJ-2000's at the moment. If they ever didn't work, or if I forgot them, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to ask another friend who is DJing that evening to loan me their pair. I've done it before for people, and I imagine the same would be paid back. Something to be said for DJing with a crew and networking |

Rena Estabrook 17.02.2013 | Sennheiser HD-280. Fairly inexpensive and effective. No problems in 3 years of use. |

I personally believe the 52's are really heavy/loud on the high end, enough that I have to use ear plugs to "feel" the music and not have my ears bleed after. |

Jolynn Schroyer 16.02.2013 | Well the hdj-500 comes in many different colors. But I prefer the looks of the xd2-53 it's all preference though. |

Renate Mayeur 16.02.2013 | hd25 or ai ai ai tma-1 |
Jolynn Schroyer 16.02.2013 | Since I keep hearing about those every other post ^^ you should check them out. |
Harley Zitka 16.02.2013 | Just buy headphones that will NEVER break. Sennheiser HD25-1 II FTW. |
Renate Mayeur 16.02.2013 | it's ok in a club. I tried them, but i like my hd25 or my brother's hdj2000 more. They isolate much better. |

Few weeks ago i forgot to pack my headphones (silly me), I asked the dj who played before me if i could borrow his headphones. It was no problem. Just my 2 cents. And if you really want to have a 2nd pair, i would go for a cheap solution, like MRG12EG suggested. |
Jeffrey Akinsanya 16.02.2013 | i presume you just want a cheap 2nd pair? bang for buck get the Sennheiser HD 205-II Headphones A09KG.jpg for price they perform great... |

I like the Allen Heath xone xd2 53 but I believe the pio's Hdj 500 look better. I really don't know which I should buy. If I buy the allen's I probably won't have the money to buy a second pair to have in case something goes wrong, but if I buy the Pio's probably I buy two pairs of Hdj-500. What do you guys believe I should do? |
Jolynn Schroyer 16.02.2013 | To be honest the xd2-53s are my favorite head phones. I should have not returned them. I didn't read that you already have a pair. For a second pair, not sure. You could try the ones I own. The Pioneer hdj-500 so far they are holding up. Had them one day now lol. Check out reviews online, go to guitar center and ask them their opinion. I saw on ebay they have the xd2-53s for 60.00 but you got to win the "bid" people can raise the bid and basically you got to out bid out the top buyer. Ebay's got excellent deals on gear. People at guitar center told me the American Audio Hp700 Head phones were good also. They got the same exact look as the xd2-53's. 69.99 is the price. |
Tamela Batara 16.02.2013 | He already has the XD2-53's though? I would be buying the Sennheiser HD 25's. That's what I have, the XD2's and the HD 25's. Both are great headphones. |
Jolynn Schroyer 16.02.2013 | Oops! I mean the Allen & heath xone 52's. Super comfy, sturdy, amazing all around. A++ The only cool thing I like about my Pioneer hdj-500 is it comes wireless, you plug the wire into the left ear then into your mixer or laptop. They include two wires. A standard wire and a curly bungie wire. I use the bungie wire since it's stretchy obviously. The 92 is a mixer lolol, that was a noob mistake. Anyways I purchased my xone 52 headphones from guitar center but looks like they don't have them on the website and I didn't see them at the store. If you can go buy some head phones this weekend or next week. Any item over 199.99 you get a 15% off discount. So you can get a solid pair of head phones 199.99 then deduct 75 dollars from that. You get them for 125.00 I just got a mixer and headphones and saved 75 so go get that discount lol. Presidents day & memorial day Guitar Center does fat discounts on items. Good luck dude! |
