struggles with buying
struggles with buying Posted on: 03.04.2013 by Genevive Roniger hello, i have no dj gear yet. I want to buy the z2 but you need turntables or cdj's. The s4 is all in one but the s4 is old and there will be a new one in a while.. i want to go for the z2 but i dont have a big budget so i thought as a setup i take the z2 + midifighter pro or 2 midifighter spectra's could that work for dj'ing? or could i better buy a s4 or wait? sorry for my bad English but im from Europe | |

Loyce Mekonen 04.04.2013 | Skip the Mixtrack Pro and go for a second hand S2. I started out with a mixtrack some time ago and yes, it's a beast of a controller considering it's price. But just save a little more and buy something you won't grow out of 6 months into having it. I'd even suggest getting an S4 since it's a solid all rounder, at least for starters. I'm personally going to switch from an S2 to an S4 because I'm starting to feel the itch for more than 2 decks mixing (without using shift layers all the time). So yeah... either get an S2 to get your feet wet or just jump straight into the water with an S4. |
Wilson Durrum 04.04.2013 | I started with a mixtrack then moved to a vci-100se and now have a S2. Start with something cheap to learn the basic and be sure this is something you want to purse before spending a lot of money. |

Bunny Sockel 04.04.2013 | Get a Z2, X1, F1. You will be able to get pretty creative with that setup. |

Ralph Alderette 04.04.2013 | I started on a Numark Stealth controller. It was sturdy and survived a couple drops and spills no problem. Then I moved onto a DDM4000+ Audio2 Dj. Honestly just pick SOMETHING. Then you'll know what you want, and what you actually will use. TRUST ME! It's always a nice feeling when you know that you need a better controller because you've mastered the one you have. |
Gaynell Rydberg 03.04.2013 | I really don't get why everyone keeps saying there will be a new S4. It's like perpetually spreading itself... Agreed with buying a Mixtrack Pro. Denon MC3000 is also very nice IMO. Solid construction. My only gripe is with the feedback of pushing buttons. |

Olin Easley 03.04.2013 | My advice is to get a Mixtrack Pro first, just to learn the basics, etc and when you're sure that you wanna continue DJing (doesn't matter if we're talking about gigs or just bedroom djing), you can spend more money on something better like a vci400 or a modular set up or whatever you feel is appropriate. |
