Also Carl Craig, Paco Osuna, Kevin Sauderson, and Seth Troxler.

Looking at the events it looks like there is also support from Ean golden through the whole thing, which is kind of interesting considering the contrasting styles and probably smart as I imagine many college kids would be pretty confused walking into a straight minimal techno set.

I believe it is interesting and I hope successful and a good way to expose some younger people to stuff aside from dubstep/electro who many have probably never heard this type of electronic music.

Now now.. Boring.. I can put aside.. lets just go with "non creative" :P Richie Hawtin, Carl Cox, and few of those others, are what made me go.. "wow, what im doing now is freakin lame" a few years ago and I never looked back! And hell I spin alot more progressive/electro multi deck than Techno... but a good tech set is very very nice

after watching his recent boiler room set, I fully realized a lot of what the more knowledgeable members here have been echoing for ages. Two techs and a 92... and he KILLED it! No frill mixing, awesome tune selection, and impeccable timing. I'm a digital gear slut and I've never wanted an analogue setup more. I would of saved money LOL.

I believe there are a lot of Techno fans here, they're just in the shadows. For me, I started with electro, but the more I got into DJ'ing, the more I wanted to find the real "tribal" beats; the more organic sounds that lend themselves to being mixed. Plus, IMO, nothing hits harder then a good techno/minimal track... ask Len Faki

I believe the main reason they're doing it in the US, and more specifically at campuses was already stated, but seems it has to be repeated.

"According to the tour's press release, CNTRL will be focused on "engaging young North American fans of EDM and showing them the roots of the music, the history of a global movement and demonstrating what the future of music technology and performance has the power to become."

More than anything I believe they are trying to show all the bro's and coed's that there's more to electronic music than Skrillex and Deadmau5, and trying to show where it's come from, where it's been and hopefully where it's going in the future as well.

I'm actually more excited about the seminars than the performance, as I've seen all these guys many times. except Ean, that will be cool to hear.

Kevin Saunderson was there in the beginning, from Detroit with Derrick May one of THE creators of Techno. Carl Craig is brilliant. Went to a couple of evening s with him playing. Boys Own brought him over from US to do some parties for them in the early 90's. Richie Hawtin has been around from early 90's Djing and making Techno records.
